Taking the mystery out of the Mouse

Taking the mystery out of the Mouse

You know the where... now to figure out the when!

With 2018 Disney World vacation packages now available I am being asked "When is a good time to go to Disney World?" a lot. Good can mean many different things to different people. Some are looking for the lowest crowds, others for special events and most are looking for the lowest prices. Here are my recommendations for when the best (and worst) times to visit the Disney World Resort are and why!

Best Times to visit and why

Beginning of January to Mid-February- low crowds, great sales, reasonable airfare
First 3 weeks of May- low crowds, warm weather, good deals, Epcot Flower & Garden festival
Late August & all of September- lower crowds, great sales, Epcot Food and Wine festival. Warning: it is HOT this time of year and it is also hurricane season (hurricanes are not a big deal at Disney! They take great care of you!)
Mid November- Mid December (with the exception of Thanksgiving)- the most magical time of the year, parks are decorated, moderate crowds.

Worst Times to visit

Mid February through Mid-April- Spring Break!! Expensive airfare, large crowds, few discounts. March is the worst as the south is on spring break and also many South American youth tour groups visit this time of year.
June through Early August- large crowds (everyone is out of school), moderate discounts, HOT!!
Christmas-New Year’s week- busiest week of the year. Parks often close due to overcrowding, wait times for rides can be 3-4 hours, most expensive time of the year.

I recommend that you begin to plan your Disney vacation at least 9 months in advance. This will give you the most availability for the resort and room type that you want and also give us plenty of time to work on your dining which can be booked 180 days in advance of travel. ready to start planning?
